Judge Ieshia Gray is a judicial leader, restorative justice innovator, and speaker committed to building safer communities through accountability, opportunity, and service. As Presiding Judge of the Sauk Village Restorative Justice Community Court, she is helping shape a more community-centered vision of justice—one that recognizes the power of dignity, responsibility, and second chances.
Elected in 2018, Judge Gray brings to the bench a lifelong commitment to fairness, service, and access to justice. Raised in a working-class union family, she became the first in her family to attend a four-year college and become an attorney. Her career has included teaching in public schools, advocating for economically disadvantaged clients in the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, and serving on the bench with distinction across a wide range of cases.
Today, Judge Gray is known for her leadership in restorative justice, youth engagement, conflict resolution, and community partnership. In addition to her judicial service, she is an educator, public speaker, and trusted voice on leadership, justice, and the work of building stronger communities.
